In the competitive cosmetics industry, striking package design is critical to the success of your brand. A cosmetics label is ultimately one of the most important factors that will influence a buyer when they make the decision to purchase your product or leave it on the shelf.

Dasco offers several cosmetic labeling solutions. Whether you are looking to order custom labels or bring your entire labeling process in-house, our experts are here to help.

01.Print Your Cosmetics Labels In-House

Cosmetics labels put your brand identity front and center. No matter how eye-catching your label, sometimes it is necessary to update your packaging. Whether you need to accommodate for new market research or are expanding your product line, a label update can help you stay on top of your brand messaging.

If you outsource to a commercial printer, updating your cosmetic label can be expensive and time consuming. Many commercial printers require high order minimums, which is restrictive – especially for small businesses. On top of that, you will have to deal with shipping charges and long lead times. This can quickly add up to a headache of production delays and wasted labels. If these are familiar frustrations, you should stop outsourcing and bring your label-printing in-house.

We offer a selection of printers to help you take control of your labeling. For cosmetics labels, we recommend the Afinia LT5C, a CMYK & White desktop label printer. Because of its unique white-ink printing technology, the LT5C prints striking images, even on dark or clear stock. Achieve the coveted no-label look without the extra cost. 02.Cosmetic Label Requirements

Cosmetic products are regulated by the FDA. This means that when you are designing cosmetic packaging, it is important to keep compliance in mind.

The first set of rules refers to the principle display panel. This is the part of the packaging that your customers will see first, and it should clearly display the following information:

  • Cosmetic’s name
  • Description of the cosmetic’s use
  • Net Quantity Statement
  • Name and Address of Distributor

Next is the ingredient list. This may be displayed anywhere on the primary or secondary packaging, as long as it is conspicuous.

  • Letters no less than 1/16” high
  • Listed in descending order of predominance

Finally, if your cosmetic is hazardous when misused, you must declare a warning on the product label. Check the FDA site for more information on compliant cosmetic labeling.

03.Beautiful Labels, Made to Last

Cosmetics consumers are notoriously hard on their products. They use them at the sink, in the shower, or on the go. They expect a product that’s durable and beautiful throughout. A shoddy label will quickly fade and peel, which makes your brand look unprofessional.

Dasco offers a selection of label stock that will keep your cosmetics looking beautiful and on-brand throughout their use. Contact us to find the label that is right for your product. We offer:
